Chesapeake Republicans got the message.

Two years ago, Republicans were sent a message by the voters of Chesapeake, they lost three seats on City Council.  During the last two years, Chesapeake Republicans regrouped, reorganized and and standardized their platforms around true conservative principles.

And Tuesday, the voters of Chesapeake rewarded them.

Drawing on the resources of party power brokers such as Shirley Forbes, the wife of U.S. Rep. Randy Forbes, they used that anger over real estate taxes to mobilize the city’s conservative voters on Tuesday.  -=SOURCE=-

Debbie Ritter and Rick West, two of the highest vote getters were elected to 4 year terms.  Alan Krasnoff beat Adams for the Mayor’s Office and Patricia Willis won a two year seat vacated by Krasnoff when he opted to run for Mayor.

These folks credit the support and advice of the Republican Party generally and the guidance of Shirley Forbes, to build a platform that met the citizens needs and desires.  A low tax platform.

Congratulations to all the candidates!
