Withdrawal of support for McCain

I have been pouring over this for several weeks now. Completely torn about what to do. I’ve watched Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton beating the snot out of each other. I’ve watched them lie to the American people and watched them tap dance their way trying to get out of being caught. And failing miserably.

After my choice for POTUS dropped out early, Duncan Hunter, the Virginia Primary come and go with little choice of whom to pick and finally, the presumptive nomination going to John McCain, I decided to be the “good republican” and throw my support to the party’s nominee.

But I can not continue to do so. I have watched him throw veteran’s rights away. In the past form a frontal assault on 1st amendment issues, grow weak on illegal aliens and give much rhetoric to addressing the economy, which he self admittedly knows little about how to fix.

My brother in law, a long time conservative and generally a republican can’t stand him. He thinks McCain is even showing signs of early dementia, and yes, he’s qualified to make that call. I’m not. But I do believe McCain has some issues and I am having a great deal of difficulty staying behind him.

Six months ago, my father in law expressed concerns over McCain’s temper. Another well placed California politico agreed.

This hysterical “gas tax holiday” scheme, that will at best save me 5 dollars a week is just another straw on the already heavily laden camel’s back.

While I am not basing my decision on other people’s positions, it does add fuel to the fire.

All that being said, I have no idea what I am going to do in November. I have voted in every election cycle I was eligible for since 1979, local, state and national. There has not been an election I have not voted in and I doubt seriously I will miss this one. But the choices this November for POTUS absolutely suck wind and I will not be supporting any candidate at this point.

I’m sorry Senator McCain. I respect you for your service to our country, but I can not in good conscience support you for President of the United States.
